The Commission, close to the people through its website
Montréal, Febuary 21th, 2012 – The Commission d'enquête sur l'octroi et la gestion des contrats publics dans l'industrie de la construction (the Commission of inquiry into the granting and administration of government contracts in the construction industry) announces the launch of its website, www.ceic.gouv.qc.ca.
To mark the occasion, the Chair of the Commission, the Honourable France Charbonneau, has prepared a webcast message to the public.
Justice Charbonneau notes that since the Commission was created, largely in response to public demand, it is not only useful but essential for the public to contribute to its work. She therefore invites any person with information relating to its mandate to contact the Commission. In addition, she asks people not to hesitate to collaborate, in complete confidentiality, with the Commission’s investigators when they visit various municipalities, organizations and government departments throughout Québec.
A single, toll-free telephone number—1-855-333-CEIC (2342)—is available to citizens everywhere in Québec. People can also communicate with the Commission through its website, at the following address: email@example.com, where complete confidentiality and security are guaranteed.
The Commission’s website contains much useful information, in particular a draft of the rules of procedure governing public hearings. Individuals and organizations concerned with the work of the commission are now being consulted about these draft rules. They will be adopted on March 30 following this period of public consultation.
